The owners of a Morehead drug rehab facility have been arrested on child porn, gun and alcohol charges.
Kentucky State Police arrested 43-year-old John D. Elam and his wife, 43-year-old Myra P. Elam, both of Morehead, and charged each with possession of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor (victim under 12) and possession of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor (victim under 18).
John Elam was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and DUI. Myra Elam was additionally charged with public intoxication.
The investigation began after police discovered the suspects uploading sexually explicit videos of juveniles to an online social media account.
The investigation is ongoing.
The couple was lodged in the Rowan County Detention Center on $150,000 cash bonds.
According to a post on Operation Unite, the couple has owned and operated Edgewater Recovery Center since 2018.
