Three people have been charged with arson after setting fire to their home for the insurance money.
Kentucky State Police said investigators responded Tuesday afternoon to Pitzer Street in Barbourville to investigate a possible arson fire. Evidence gathered at the scene led police to charge 66-year-old Donnie Sloan, 58-year-old Ann Sloan and 56-year-old Beatrice Isaac with first-degree arson.
The trio was also charged with second-degree wanton endangerment, as a person living in the basement of the home had to escape the flames.
Police said the suspects admitted to setting fire to the residence for the insurance money.
All three suspects were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
