A woman has been arrested after Grayson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Officer Zeus alerted on a vehicle during a traffic stop on Owensboro Road early Friday morning.
Friday morning at approximately 1:05, Deputy Sean Fentress observed a 2007 Ford Focus cross the center line twice within a tenth of a mile, according to the arrest citation. Fentress initiated a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Owensboro Road.
Upon making contact with the driver, 32-year-old Kira Marshall, of Louisville, the suspect told Fentress she was tired after driving from Louisville. She then began behaving in a suspicious manner, the citation states.
Deputies Thomas Lane and Hunter Miller soon arrived at the scene to assist.
Fentress then deployed K-9 Zeus around the vehicle, with the drug dog alerting on the Ford.
During a search of the vehicle and Marshall, deputies located multiple bindles of heroin packaged as if for sale, and weighing over four grams, and marijuana.
The heroin, which was brown and gray in color, was determined to contain fentanyl.
Marshall was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (heroin), reckless driving, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
