Grayson County residents now have the option to receive free emergency alerts from county government in cooperation with Grayson County Emergency Management.
“Our community’s safety is our top priority, and we’re excited to introduce Grayson County Alerts from CodeRED,” Grayson County Judge-Executive Kevin Henderson said in making the announcement.
CodeRed is an emergency notification system designed to keep community members safe in the event of an emergency, the company’s website states. CodeRed, which offers real-time updates, will be used for events such as evacuation orders, releasing information regarding flooding and wildfires, boil water advisories, criminal activity, and missing persons, among other scenarios.
To sign-up, visit this website: accountportal.onsolve.net/grayson-county-alerts.
Anyone who has trouble signing up is asked to call 270-971-1763 or 270-259-0303, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
“We highly recommend using the texting feature,” Henderson said.
County officials will send out a mailer to all Grayson County residents later this week with information on how to sign-up for the emergency alert service.
