The Leitchfield Fire Department was dispatched Wednesday night to a vehicle on fire in the middle of the road.
Firefighters responded to the 2500 block of Kefauver Road at approximately 6:10 after a Jeep 4×4 was found on fire in the roadway. It took firefighters about 10 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which roared through the passenger compartment, destroying the vehicle.
No one was around the Jeep when LFD arrived, but firefighters said it belonged to someone who lives not far from where the vehicle burst into flames.
A resident removed the vehicle from the roadway with a tractor outfitted with a forklift.
No injuries were reported.
