A man was rescued after a mobile home collapsed in Knott County.
The Hindman Fire Department said that on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3:30 fire personnel responded to Mayor Street in the Carrie community in Knott County. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found a structure had collapsed and trapped a male.
The victim, trapped under debris, was rescued by firefighters who used “hydraulic spreaders, stabilization cribbing, & hand tools firefighters were able to lift and capture the weight of the overhead roof to safely remove the patient,” the fire department said.
The victim was airlifted to a hospital.
Carrie is a town of fewer than 50 residents about five miles east of Hindman.
