The names of the victims in Monday morning’s murder and assaults on Indian Ridge Road have been released by Kentucky State Police.

Kentucky State Police Post 4 Public Affairs Officer Scotty Sharp said killed with a sword in the rampage by 49-year-old George Greer was 59-year-old Teresa Boles, of Grayson County. Boles was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grayson County Coroner Joe Brad Hudson and Deputy Coroner James Embry. Her body was transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Critically injured in the attack was Boles’ husband, 60-year-old Joseph Boles, of Grayson County. The couples’ daughter and Greer’s girlfriend, 32-year-old Laura Tabor, also of Grayson County, suffered severe injuries and was transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center by EMS.

Joseph Boles was airlifted from Rough River Dam State Resort Park to University of Louisville Hospital.

A person with knowledge of the investigation told K105 that the attack occurred when Greer and Tabor were in a domestic dispute and Tabor’s parents intervened.

Police said Greer and the three victims lived at a residence in the 600 block of Indian Ridge Road, where the deadly attack took place.

The incident began when the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Leitchfield Police Department, Constable Mark Stanton, the Falls of Rough Fire Department, and EMS responded Monday morning at approximately 7:20 to Indian Ridge Road after Greer attacked the three victims with a sword.

Prior to law enforcement arriving, Greer fled the area in Tabor’s blue 2008 Chrysler Town & Country minivan.

Law enforcement officers from Grayson and surrounding counties searched the Falls of Rough area, as well the Mammoth Cave region, for Greer. Both ground units and a Kentucky State Police aircraft from the KSP’s Aircraft Support Branch participated in the search.

The minivan was discovered by KSP’s aircraft on Hollow Church Road, off Owensboro Road (Hwy 54), just west of Short Creek and 6.2 miles from the scene of the crime.

Greer, who ditched the minivan when he stole a Chevrolet Impala, was arrested by Kentucky State Police after Grayson County Jailer Jason Woosley spotted Greer on Hwy 54 around 1:20 Monday afternoon, according to a person with knowledge of the pursuit. Woolsey pursued Greer to Edwards Cemetery Road, near the Ohio County line, where Greer exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Kentucky State Police captured Greer on Edwards Cemetery Road at 1:28 Monday afternoon.

The distance between the scene of the murder and assaults on Indian Ridge Road and where Greer was apprehended is about nine miles.

Greer was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center where he’s been charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, first-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking (automobile), and two counts of fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle, on foot).

KSP Det. Bryan Washer is leading the investigation.
