Police in Grayson, surrounding counties, looking for man who murdered woman near Short Creek

Law enforcement in the region are on the lookout for a man accused of killing a woman and severely injuring two more people with a sword on Indian Ridge Road, north of Short Creek.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office and Leitchfield Police Department along with Constable Mark Stanton, the Falls of Rough Fire Department and EMS responded Monday morning at approximately 7:20 to Indian Ridge Road after George Greer attacked at least three people with a sword.

Greer fled the area in a blue 2008 Chrysler Town & Country minivan. The rear window of the vehicle has been busted out. Law enforcement officers in Grayson County have scoured the area for the minivan but with no success.

An injured female was transported to a hospital by EMS. A critically injured male was airlifted from Rough River Dam State Resort Park to an unknown hospital.

Greer, state police said, stands approximately five feet, eight inches tall and weighs about 155 pounds. He has brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Greer’s whereabouts is asked to contact Kentucky State Police at 270-766-5078 or your local law enforcement.

Kentucky State Police was requested by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office at 7:40 a.m. to lead the murder investigation.
