An Ohio County man granted shock probation on theft and drug convictions has been arrested on drug charges.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and Probation and Parole personnel received a tip about drug activity at a residence in Centertown occupied by 39-year-old Matthew C. Fleener.

Fleener was granted shock probation in July 2023 after being convicted in Ohio County for receiving stolen property (over $500, less than $10,000) and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) in April 2023, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections.

Upon law enforcement arriving at the home, Fleener “was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal narcotics,” according to Ohio County Sheriff Adam Wright.

Fleener was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center where he was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served with a probation violation for a felony offense.

Fleener is on probation until June 2028.
