There is no immediate relief for the winter weather weary as Grayson County will be under a Winter Weather Advisory beginning Thursday morning at 11:00, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The NWS is predicting “a wintry mix of snow, freezing rain, and plain rain … to develop across the region Thursday afternoon.”

Freezing drizzle is expected during the late afternoon on Thursday followed by a period of light snow late Thursday night and into Friday morning.

The area is expected to receive up to 1.5 inches of snow and a tenth-of-an-inch of ice.

The temperature in Grayson County is expected to peak at 34 degrees during the mid-afternoon on Thursday followed by overnight temps dipping into the mid-20s.

Prepare for slippery road conditions, as the mixed precipitation could create hazardous driving conditions from Thursday afternoon to Friday morning.

The high temperature on Friday is forecast to be 28 degrees.

On Saturday and Sunday, the lows are again anticipated to be in the single digits before a warming trend next week.

The Winter Weather Advisory is slated to end Friday evening at 6:00.
