Pauline (Oller) Logsdon, age 89, formerly of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday,
(December 28, 2023) at the home of her loving daughter in Brandenburg, KY. She was born on April 9, 1934, in Sadler, KY, the daughter of the late Emmett and Nettie (Hack) Oller.
She married Rev. James R. Logsdon at the young age of 14, the love of her life on June 16,
1948. As written in the family bible for 49 years, 7 months, and 7 days until death did part.
She was a supervisor for IMS (Kane’s) for several years; also worked at Phar-Shar and Coast to
Coast Hardware and owned and ran a restaurant in Leitchfield in the early 60’s called Pauline’s
Home Cooking. Granny (as most of the family referred to her) enjoyed quilting, sewing,
singing, cooking big meals and playing games with her family whom she loved dearly. She was
a member of the New Freedom Church but in later years attended Smalls Grove Church in
Caneyville, KY.
She is survived by her children, Gloria Hockaday (Ralph) of Brandenburg, Richard Logsdon
(Rhonda) of Bardstown, Cathy Mudd (Manuel) of Hodgenville and God Son, Jeff Hester
(Jodie) of Leitchfield, ten grandchildren, Andy Logsdon, Jamie Logsdon, Bernard Logsdon, Jr.,
Jonathon Blain, Wesley Mudd, James Logsdon, Tina Jewell, Melanie Haggard, Matisha
Chambers and Angela Jones, 24great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, 3 God
grandchildren, several step grands, great grands and great-great grands as well, one sister,
Jerline Oller Cook (Charles), three sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Lasley, Roberta Brooks, Elsie
Sapp, two daughters-in-law, Loretta Logsdon and Debbie Duvall. Several nieces, nephews and
friends also survive.
Other than her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, David Lee,
Bernard V. and Samuel Logsdon (Stillborn); one daughter-in-law, Barbara (Blain) Logsdon;
one grandchild, Latisha Logsdon; one great grandchild, Charles Matthew Haggard; a special
brother-in-law, Howard Hester; one sister, Maggie (Oller) Hester; three brothers, Raymond,
Wilbur and Ernest Oller.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. (CST) Monday, (January 1, 2024) at the Dermitt Funeral
Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Randall Deweese will be officiating. Burial will be in the Logsdon
Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (CST) on Sunday
and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
