The FBI searched a property in Nelson County possibly associated with the disappearance and murder of Crystal Rogers.
Hardin County Commonwealth’s Attorney Shane Young, who was designated the special prosecutor in the Rogers case, confirmed with news outlets that the search was associated with a murder case from Nelson County. Young, though, did not reveal which case (there are several open murder investigations in Nelson County, but none, other than the Rogers case, involves a missing person).
Coxs Creek residents told WAVE.com that FBI agents and Kentucky State Police arrived on a property on Thompson Road Monday morning. There were also several pieces of large equipment, including a backhoe, at the scene.
Dirt was dug up and transported from the location in a truck.
Till Ballard, Crystal Rogers’ grandfather, told WAVE.com that he had heard officials were looking for Rogers’ remains.
Rogers, 35, a mother of five, disappeared on July 3, 2015. Her vehicle was found on the Bluegrass Parkway in Nelson County with her personal belongings inside.
The indictment states that Houck, the father of one of Rogers’ children, “acting alone or in complicity with another, committed the offense of murder by intentionally or under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to human life wantonly causing the death of Crystal Rogers.”
