A Breckinridge County fugitive has been nabbed in far western Kentucky.
Brandon P. Dowell, 26, of Hardinsburg, was arrested at a residence in Ballard County on Tuesday, according to Kentucky State Police.
Troopers, along with Ballard County deputies, responded to a residence in the La Center community and made contact with the homeowner who was leaving the home. The homeowner confirmed to police that Dowell was inside the residence.
The homeowner also advised law enforcement that Dowell had a firearm. After law enforcement made contact using a PA system, Dowell was taken into custody without incident.
A firearm was located and determined to have recently been stolen from someone in Ballard County, Kentucky State Police said.
Dowell was arrested on a new charge of receiving stolen property (firearm). He was also served with outstanding warrants for charges including third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking, criminal possession of a forged instrument, and escape. He was also wanted on multiple failure to appear counts.
This latest arrest marks at least the 11th time Dowell has been arrested since October 2021 on theft, drug and escape charges.
