The 20-year-old Pulaski County man accused of killing his father and grandfather, and shooting and stabbing his grandmother, has been arrested.

Austin Prather was arrested Wednesday night in Indiana, according to Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones.

K105 reported Wednesday that the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said multiple law enforcement agencies responded Tuesday night at 11:45 to a home on Raleigh Road in Science Hill on the report of a shooting.

Upon arriving at the residence, police found 67-year-old Ardyth Prather Jr., deceased from gunshot wounds. His wife, 65-year-old Joann Prather, had been shot and stabbed. She was airlifted to a Lexington hospital.

During the investigation, police noticed blood on the door of a neighboring residence. Police entered the home and found the Prather’s son, 43-year-old Ardyth Prather III, deceased from gunshot wounds.

Austin Prather fled the scene in a brown 2013 Jeep Wrangler.

“An arrest warrant charging Prather with two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder” has been issued, according to Jones.

The U.S. Marshals Service assisted in the arrest of Austin Prather. He remains in Indiana as he awaits extradition to Kentucky.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is leading the investigation.
