Hartford police chief placed on leave while drug task force investigates, fired from Beaver Dam PD in 2013

The Hartford police chief has been placed on leave as a drug task force conducts an investigation.

Brent Lindsey, sworn in as Hartford police chief on July 29, 2021, has been placed on leave as the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force investigates possible malfeasance.

Lindsey, an Ohio County native, has been a law enforcement officer for 15 years.

He was terminated from the Beaver Dam Police Department in 2013 for official misconduct after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship, according to a person with knowledge of the 2013 investigation.
