A Leitchfield man with a recent history of arrests and accused of perpetrating a two-county burglary spree has been indicted.
A Breckinridge County Grand Jury indicted 23-year-old Tyler W. Corbin for receiving stolen property (over $10,000), first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot).
The indictment stems from Corbin’s arrest in Breckinridge County on August 12, 2023. He was also wanted in Grayson County for committing “no less than 10 burglaries, thefts and destruction of private property calls between July 14 and August 12,” Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins said at the time of Corbin’s arrest.
Corbin was arrested in August after fleeing on foot from Breckinridge County deputies while carrying a rifle. Still carrying a rifle, he was later observed by a drone in a wooded area but was not immediately located. Not long after, the Hardinsburg Police Department received an attempted theft complaint. Responding to that call, Breckinridge County Sheriff Billy Richardson soon spotted Corbin, but he fled on foot. Richardson, though, quickly captured and placed Corbin under arrest.
He was lodged in the Breckinridge County Jail.
The suspect continues to face additional charges in Grayson County for burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
“Corbin is a known drug addict and had already committed multiple crimes due to his addiction,” Chaffins said in August.
As K105 previously reported, the suspect was placed into a diversion program after being convicted of theft by unlawful taking (firearm), a crime committed in June 2020, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections. Corbin, though, has not followed the conditions of the program and dismissed warnings from judges before walking away from rehab and beginning his recent crime spree, Chaffins said.
Corbin was placed Grayson County’s Most Wanted list in October 2022. He was wanted for two counts of fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle, on foot), felony wanton endangerment and driving on a DUI suspended license. He surrendered at the Leitchfield Police Department on December 15, 2022, and faced additional charges of theft by unlawful taking (firearm), fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), speeding 26 mph or more over the limit, and careless driving.
