Leitchfield man with long history of drug, violence-related charges jailed for dating violence, violating EPO/DVO

A Leitchfield man with a history of violence-related and drug arrests has been jailed on an arrest warrant.

Leitchfield Police Department Sgt. DJ Newton arrested 30-year-old James C. Decker on a complaint warrant charging him with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, fourth-degree assault (dating violence) and violation of a Kentucky emergency protective order/domestic violence order. The offenses are alleged to have taken place on September 16, 2023.

Decker was also served with a warrant out of Ohio County for non-payment of court costs.

The suspect has a lengthy history of arrests, according to online records, dating back to 2011 in multiple counties for multiple offenses.

He was most recently jailed on fourth-degree assault in Grayson County in November 2022; in July 2019, he was charged in Hardin County with possession of methamphetamine and possession of synthetic drugs; in October 2018 in Henderson County Decker was charged with fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle) and possession of methamphetamine; in March 2018 in Boyle County he was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police (on foot) and possession of methamphetamine; in May 2017, he was charged in Hardin County with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), second-degree disorderly conduct and possession of methamphetamine; in Breckinridge County in February 2017 he was arrested for fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle) and possession of methamphetamine; in July 2013, Decker was charged in Hardin County with third-degree assault of a police officer, violation of an EPO/DVO, third-degree terroristic threatening, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.

Decker has also been jailed for menacing and theft by unlawful taking (automobile).
