Ronald “Ronnie” Lynn Decker, age 63, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Monday, (September 18, 2023) at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born on April 15, 1960, in Grayson County, KY, the son of the late Oscar Decker Sr. and Nelma Rea Decker.
He was a wonderful papaw to his six grandchildren who enjoyed trading tractors and lawnmowers. He was a member of Claggett United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Melissa Decker of Leitchfield; daughter, April Blessitt (Donathan) of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren, Kadance, Kollin, Karter, Kayce, Kenadi, and Kamden; one brother, Robert Decker (Susie); six sisters, Faye Sego, Betty Saltsman (James), Ina Green (James), Jocie Chambers (Ernie), Diane Ward (Randy) and Charlene Downs (Barry); two brother-in-laws, Elroy Cook and Harlan McGrew; and one sister-in-law, Jennie Decker. Several
nieces and nephews also survive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Adam Cord Decker; five brothers, Gilbert, Timmy (Sharon), Orin, Oscar Jr., and Harold Decker; and two sisters, Elaine Cook and Mary McGrew.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, (September 25, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Cecil Williams will be officiating. Burial will be in the Claggett Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
