The name of the motorcyclist killed in a crash on Saturday in Ohio County has been released.

Ohio County Sheriff Adam Wright said in a social media post on Saturday that deputies were “working a fatal collision” near the intersection of Hwy 69 and Combs Bridge Road, about five miles northeast of Hartford.

The wreck, between a motorcycle and truck, resulted in the death of 67-year-old Ray L. Rowe, of Owensboro.

The driver of the truck, whose name has not been released, was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The motorcycle fatality marks the third traffic-related death in Ohio County in a week after a mother and her young son were killed in a crash in Ohio County that also critically injured five other people.

The wreck occurred Saturday night, September 2, in the 7000 block of Hwy 231 near Cromwell when a vehicle containing eight people crashed into a car containing one person.

Killed in the wreck were Eulalia Gomez and her nine-year-old son, Christian Francisco. According to the Beech Tree News, Gomez and her son were from Butler County.

Three people were airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital, while two victims were transported to UofL Hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the car that was struck was transported to Ohio County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
