KSP Post 4 troopers jail nearly 50 impaired drivers, arrest over 450 during July

Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown has released its July Activity Report.

According KSP Post 4 Public Affairs Officer Scotty Sharp, troopers and detectives:

  • Wrote 2,626 citations and arrested 46 impaired drivers.
  • Opened 59 criminal cases, made 464 arrests and served 90 criminal court documents.
  • Cited 683 speeders and issued citations to 210 motorists for failure to wear a seat belt, with 18 citations issued for failure to use a child restraint seat.
  • Investigated 36 motor vehicle accidents and assisted 112 stranded motorists.
  • Gave 206 courtesy notices for minor traffic offenses.
  • Conducted 38 school and business security checks and answered 883 citizen complaints.
  • Were involved in 429 special details and conducted 11 community programs.

Sharp reminds motorists that KSP Post 4 troopers will conduct Road Safety Checkpoints as well as Speed Checkpoints in the eight county Post 4 coverage area during August and throughout the remainder of 2023.

Kentucky State Police Post 4 covers Hardin, Jefferson, Bullitt, Nelson, Meade, Breckinridge, LaRue, and Grayson counties.
