The pursuit of a motorcycle resulted in the seizure of three ounces of methamphetamine.

Kentucky State Police said that on Thursday morning at approximately 3:00, the Scott County, Tennessee, 911 center contacted state police in London and advised that Tennessee deputies were pursuing a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Hwy 27 that was crossing into Kentucky.

Troopers and McCreary County deputies took over the pursuit on Hwy 27 in the Strunk area of McCreary County.

Police said the motorcyclist, 32-year-old Daniel Kyle Clark, of Stearns (McCreary Co.), misjudged a clearance and laid the motorcycle down. Clark fled on foot and hid in tall grass. Police, though, located Clark and after a struggle he was arrested.

Found on Clark’s person was 84.89 grams, or three ounces, of methamphetamine, Kentucky State Police said.

Clark was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), two counts of possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), two counts of fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle, on foot), resisting arrest, DUI (aggravating circumstances, his second such offense), third-degree criminal mischief, and being a persistent felony offender among several traffic violations.

He was lodged in the Knox County Jail.
