Domestic disturbance leads to attempted murder, rape, burglary charges for Morgantown man

A Morgantown man is facing rape and attempted murder charges after police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in progress.

According to Morgantown Police Chief Giles Taylor, after arriving at the scene, officers arrested 45-year-old Jarrod Wilkerson early Tuesday morning at Oak Hill Apartments, on Oak Hill Drive.

Wilkerson was charged with first-degree burglary, attempted murder (domestic violence), first-degree rape (domestic violence), felony strangulation, violating an EPO/DVO, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and possession of marijuana.

He was lodged in the Butler County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
