Three suspects, including two juveniles, have been arrested after a shootout at a prom after-party for Paducah Tilghman High School that injured four people.
The shooting occurred Sunday morning at approximately 1:00 in the parking lot of W.C. Young Community Center in Paducah. Four people were injured when a 17-year-old and 20-year-old Omariyon Harper, of Union City, Tennessee, exchanged gunfire, according to multiple media reports.
Union City, Tennessee, is about 60 miles south of Paducah.
Police first arrested the 17-year-old and a 16-year-old, who was involved in the altercation that led to the gunfire. Both turned themselves into authorities on Wednesday. Harper surrendered Wednesday night to officers at the Union City (TN) Police Department, according to the Paducah Police Department.
Harper and the 17-year-old have been charged with four counts of first-degree assault and 12 counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. The juvenile was additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
Police said Harper and the 17-year-old are facing at least eight additional counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
The 16-year-old has been charged with four counts of complicity to first-degree assault and two counts of possession of a firearm by a juvenile.
The shooting was precipitated by a disagreement between the juveniles and Harper.
The juveniles have been lodged in the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Center. Harper, as of time of publication, was not yet listed as an inmate at the McCracken County Detention Center.
Either struck by gunfire or shrapnel were a 14-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy, an unidentified 18-year-old female, and 20-year-old Camdon Marshall, a Paducah Tilghman High School graduate.
Police added that there were many other people in close proximity of the shooting.
