
A Spencer County High School student died in a car accident on Saturday.
Saturday night at approximately 11:35, first responders were dispatched to the accident at the three-mile marker of Lilly Pike, according to the Taylorsville-Spencer County Fire Protection District. Lilly Pike is about halfway between Taylorsville and Mt. Washington.
Pronounced deceased at the scene was 18-year-old Nathan Wimsatt, who was ejected from the vehicle. Another male in the vehicle originally declined medical attention but was later transported to a local hospital.
According to Spencer County Schools, Wimsatt, a senior, played soccer and tennis and “was a beloved member of our school community, and will be greatly missed by all.”
Kentucky State Police is leading the investigation.
