Grayson County High School’s Camden Brothers has committed to play college baseball at Brescia.
Brothers is a senior member of the Cougar baseball team. On the season, he is hitting .358 with 12 RBIs. He has also had a stellar year, so far, on the mound with a 1.56 ERA in five games.
A true utility man, he has appeared in games at just about every position on the field during his Grayson County career.
“It’s close to home and a small school,” Brothers told K105 about his decision to commit to Brescia. “I didn’t really want to be anywhere real big and urban. It is a nice school and they have what I want to major in.”
The Cougar senior appreciated the honesty that Brescia coach Jon Herbig gave him during their conversations.
“(Herbig) told me face-to-face, ‘if you come here, I am going to help you no matter what,” he said.
Brothers still has plans for his last month as a member of the Grayson County baseball team.
“(I’m going to keep) working my tail off and getting better and better every day,” he added.
Brescia is an NAIA school in Owensboro, Kentucky. The head coach, Herbig, is currently in his fifth season leading the program.
