Law enforcement personnel in the region are working to nab the person or persons responsible for committing pharmacy burglaries.
The latest incident occurred in Hart County early Thursday morning, according to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, when a deputy observed a blue passenger car “leaving the area of Jane’s Pharmacy” at 950 Main Street in Munfordville.
The vehicle “immediately ran a red light” and began traveling at a high rate of speed onto I-65 north.
The car, traveling at over 100 miles per hour on the interstate, exited I-65 at Sonora and struck another vehicle. The driver then fled on foot and was not apprehended.
Police said Jane’s Pharmacy had a “front door busted out,” but only a small amount of merchandise was stolen.
After viewing surveillance footage from the other four pharmacy burglaries that took place in Barren and Warren counties, police said the same vehicle was used in all the burglaries. The car was reported stolen out of Floyd County, Indiana, in September 2021.
In Grayson County, police are aware of the burglaries and are conducting regular checks of pharmacies.
