An eastern Kentucky sheriff is warning residents to be alert after a pack of dogs attacked and killed a 61-year-old woman.
The McCreary County Sheriff’s Office said the woman was killed early Wednesday morning on Slab Vanover Road, just west of Cumberland Falls, when a pack of six dogs attacked her outside of her residence.
The dogs did not belong to the woman, whose name has not yet been released.
Four of the dogs have been captured but two remain loose.
The McCreary County Sheriff’s Office, in a social media post, told residents in the Parker’s Lake area to be alert as the two dogs yet to be captured could be nearby. The post urged residents to call 911 if anyone spots “larger unknown dogs.”
