Rose Horton Howard, age 80, of Leitchfield, KY, went to her eternal home in Heaven on Wednesday, March 8th, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on June 24, 1942 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Macy and Ora Strange Horton.
She was a member of Mt. Gilead Church; she served God and was always leading people to Jesus Christ. She loved spending time with her family. Rose retired from Leggett & Platt. She enjoyed her flowers, feeding and watching the birds, and being outdoors. She was a fan of the Kentucky Wildcats.
She is survived by her five daughters, Vivian (Lee) Sparks, Cricket (Mike) Thompson, both of Leitchfield, Lola (Jeff) Williams, Missie Harris (Crissie Rafferty) both of Louisville, Shannion (Billy) Lashley of Caneyville, and her bonus daughter, Lori Harris Boling (Billy) of Elizabethtown; her 11 grandchildren, Jeremy (Kristy), Adam (Christina), Jeffrey (Tiffany), Chasity (Paul), Brandon, Autumn (Joe), Morgan (Clay), Kya, Allison (James), Tyler (Jessalynn), Logan; her 19 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Alexis, Maddex, Kyle, Noah, Isabella, Lorna, Eleanor, Shaleigh, Eveleigh, Vivienne, Chris, Bean, Gracie, Wes, Rowan, Tucker & Adalynn; her brother, Donnie Horton and two sisters, Betty Horton and Lois Bradley. Several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends also survive.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Aaron Frank, and her five sisters, Wilma, Mammie, Alma, Patricia & Clara.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, (March 14, 2023) at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Bro. Donnie Lewis will be officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday and from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until time of services.
