A woman jailed last week on a murder charge following a fatal accident on the Western Kentucky Parkway has been indicted by a Grayson County Grand Jury.

Meagan D. Renfrow, 35, of Morgantown, was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center (GCDC) on February 14 after a grand jury indicted her for murder in the death of 31-year-old Dakota Parks (who lived in Eastview at the time of the wreck but was originally from Grayson County).

The two-vehicle accident occurred the morning of August 18, 2022, when Renfrow, driving a Jeep Liberty east near the 103-mile marker, crossed the median and became airborne before striking a westbound 2016 Ford Fusion, being driven by Parks.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Grayson County Deputy Coroner Larry Holeman. Parks was on his way to work in Caneyville at the time of the accident.

Renfrow was transported by EMS to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Kentucky State Police, with assistance from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, spent several hours reconstructing the accident, as the debris field approached 300 yards wide.

Renfrow remains lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
