Three people have been arrested after police raided a Leitchfield residence.
Wednesday morning at approximately 10:00, the Leitchfield Police Department initiated surveillance on a mobile home in the 600 block of Commerce Drive after receiving a domestic violence complaint involving a wanted felon, 25-year-old Ha’Kim Bowles, of Oak Grove but with ties to Grayson County.
Bowles, according to police, was considered by law enforcement to be armed and dangerous. He has been arrested multiple times over the last several years for assault, burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a conceal weapon, receiving stolen property, violation of an EPO, and fleeing or evading police.
He was last convicted in McCracken County in April 2022 for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections.
Bowles was accused of strangulation and holding a female against her will on Tuesday evening.
After an hour of surveillance, police spotted Bowles at the Commerce Drive residence and made entry with multiple officers. Police located eight people inside the home.
While clearing the residence, officers spotted drug paraphernalia in plain view. During a subsequent search of the property, law enforcement discovered 26-year-old Kendall Payne, of Leitchfield, in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, as Payne attempted to hide methamphetamine on his person, according to police.
A Leitchfield teenager, 18-year-old Cheyenna M. Walker, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Bowles was arrested and served with a probation violation warrant. He faces further charges including unlawful imprisonment and assault.
Payne was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), tampering with physical evidence, and possession of marijuana.
Walker was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
All three suspects were lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
Participating in surveillance, and the raid and search of the residence were Leitchfield Police Officers Eugene Cain, Bryan Jennings, and Greg Whobrey, LPD Assistant Chief Brandon Cook, LPD Sgt. Keith Harrell, Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins, Constable Mark Stanton, and the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force.
