Human remains discovered in Boyle County have been identified.

Kentucky State Police said the state Medical Examiner identified the remains as Anna Cummins, 49, of Perryville.

The skeletal remains were discovered January 20 in a field off Craintown Road in Perryville, about 10 miles west of Danville, according to state police.

Authorities initially believed the skeletal remains may have been a missing Louisville woman, 37-year-old Andrea Knabel, who was last seen on August 13, 2019, walking in the 4000 block of Fincastle Road near the Audubon Park and Camp Taylor neighborhoods.

Kentucky State Police has opened a death investigation. No further details were released.
