The Leitchfield Police Department recently announced the winners of the agency’s officer of the year and DUI enforcement awards.
Selected 2022 Leitchfield PD Officer of the Year was nine-year veteran Eugene Cain. The award was voted on by Cain’s co-workers and recognizes his exemplary police work in 2022.
“Officer of the Year is a departmental award that is voted on by peers and supervisors based on outstanding performance throughout the year,” LPD Det. Sgt. Ian Renfrow said.
LPD Sgt. Keith Harrell won the department’s 2022 DUI Enforcement Award presented annually to the officer with the most DUI arrests.
Harrell began his career in law enforcement in 2011 and has been with LPD since 2015.
“LPD congratulates these two officers for their recognition this year and is very thankful for the effort they put in each and every day to better serve the citizens of Leitchfield,” Renfrow stated.
