Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2023-2024 academic year.
More than 50 scholarship opportunities are available, and all new and returning students are encouraged to apply, the school said.
Scholarships vary in amount and eligibility criteria. Many are available to all students, while others are available to students of specific academic programs as specified by individual donors.
“No one should miss out on a college education because they can’t afford it,” Chief Institutional Advancement Officer Megan Stith said. “That’s why we’re excited to work with generous donors and offer a growing number of scholarships that make ECTC’s tuition, which is already the lowest in the state, even more affordable.”
Last year, more than $153,000 in ECTC scholarships was awarded to students from all walks of life.
Students and prospective students should complete the 2023-2024 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). New students should also complete the ECTC admissions application, and then fill out one scholarship application to be considered for all ECTC scholarships.
“We’re here to help all students take advantage of scholarships,” ECTC Scholarship Coordinator Chrissie Angell said. “All students and prospective students are invited to attend our Scholarship Days or visit the financial aid office for one-on-one assistance with the FAFSA or scholarship application.”

In addition to ECTC scholarships, the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship (WRKS) provides free tuition to eligible students for academic programs in five high demand career fields: healthcare, advanced manufacturing, transportation/logistics, business/IT and construction/trades.
ECTC students received nearly $1.2 million through WRKS during the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters.
The scholarship is available to Kentucky residents who do not have an associate degree or higher and enroll in an eligible high-demand program. ECTC has more than 20 academic programs eligible for the scholarship and options range from certificates that can be completed in as little as four months to associate degrees. WRKS covers up to 60 credit hours and up to $400 per year in fees.
The WRKS application is now open for students taking Spring 2023 classes. The application for the 2023-2024 academic year will open in May.
