A Leitchfield man on pre-trial diversion, and with two felony convictions, has been jailed after being found with at least two grams of methamphetamine.

On Wednesday afternoon, Grayson Deputy Erik Franklin and Probation and Parole officers arrived at a residence in the 500 block of Salt River Road after receiving a “drug/firearm complaint,” according to the arrest citation.

Upon arriving at the home, police made contact with 23-year-old Dominic J. Dichiara. Franklin asked Dichiara if he “had anything on his person” after the suspect placed his hands in his pockets. Dichiara responded that “it was in his pocket,” the citation states.

Franklin then located a bag of methamphetamine in Dichiara’s pants pocket.

He was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

Dichiara, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, is enrolled in a pre-trial diversion program and is on parole until September 2026.

He was convicted in May 2021 in Grayson County for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and tampering with physical evidence after a March 2021 arrest.

Also, in early March 2021, Dichiara was listed as one of Grayson County’s Most Wanted for violating and EPO/DVO, resisting arrest and fleeing or evading police (on foot) after a November 2020 incident.
