Grayson County’s Elizabeth Lindsey and Luke Milliner have been named school winners of the Heisman High School scholarship.
Lindsey was a defender on the Lady Cougar soccer team. This season, she helped lead the team to a berth in the 3rd Region tournament.
Milliner is a runner for GCHS track and field team. Last year, he medaled in the region 200m dash.
The scholarship honors senior student-athletes who “accomplish tremendous feats in the classroom, on the field, and most importantly, within their communities.”
To be eligible, students must “have at least a weighted “B” grade average (3.0 GPA) during grades 9, 10, and 11,” and participate in volunteer service.
This is the third straight year that Grayson County has had a recipient of the scholarship. Bailey Richardson (2020) and Chase Richardson (2021) also won the award.
