Kentucky State Police said on Tuesday that detectives are investigating a fatal shooting involving young eastern Kentucky siblings.
State police said the shooting occurred October 12 just before midnight in the Red Fox community in Knott County when a 12-year-old boy shot his four-year-old sister.
Police said the parents were at the residence at the time of the shooting.
The shooting remains under investigation, but state police said investigators do not believe foul play was involved and that the shooting was accidental.
No other information on the incident was released. The investigation is ongoing.
