Police investigating double murder-suicide in small western Ky. community

Three people have died in an apparent double murder-suicide in Henderson County.

On Saturday night at approximately 8:30, Kentucky State Police and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 6200 block of Hwy 136 in Smith Mills, a small community about 10 miles west of Henderson.

Upon police arriving at the scene, they found a deceased female, 26-year-old Ariana Ziebell, outside the residence along with an injured male. He was transported to an Evansville hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Both the man and Ziebell had been shot.

Police quickly discovered four children inside the home. They were unharmed and evacuated from the residence. During a further search of the home, police located another male with a fatal, self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to state police, the two deceased males are 27-year-old Mason Quinn and 42-year-old Joshua Mallory.

The investigation is ongoing.
