Two Beaver Dam residents are facing drug trafficking charges after police seized “several grams of methamphetamine” during the execution of a search warrant, according to the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday, the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force, Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, and Beaver Dam and Hartford Police Departments executed the warrant at 362 Bruce School Road in Beaver Dam, Ohio County Sheriff Tracy Beatty said.

During a search of the residence, police found a large amount of methamphetamine, marijuana, scales, baggies, pipes, and bongs, according to Beatty. Additionally, police located a “short barrel shotgun with rounds.”

A minor child was also in the home.

Police arrested 35-year-old Jared E. Blanton and 20-year-old Kaela A. Hillard and charged each with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Blanton was additionally charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

The drug charges are enhanced due to the presence of a firearm.

The child was turned over the “Social Services,” Beatty said.

Also at the residence were 28-year-old Dustin W. Riley and 26-year-old Mary A. Riley, both of Beaver Dam. They were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Blanton and Hillard were lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center. It appears Dustin and Mary Riley were cited to court.
