Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown has a new commander.
KSP announced that Captain Jeremy Smith has been selected as the new Post Commander.
“I am honored to be serving at Post 4 and excited to serve this community,” Smith said. “I look forward to cultivating partnerships with other agencies and local organizations for a stronger, safer post district.”
Smith is 17-plus year KSP veteran, as he began his career in 2004 as a member of Cadet Class 83.
He is a Pulaski County native and currently resides in Cave City.
Smith has served many roles with KSP, including in 2015 when he was promoted to sergeant and served at Post 3 in Bowling Green.
In 2017, he was promoted to lieutenant before being promoted to captain in 2020. He was then assigned to KSP’s Inspection & Evaluations Branch and in 2021 became the Commander of the Internal Affairs Branch.
During his career, Smith has received the Kentucky State Police Citation for Meritorious Service with Valor, The Lifesaving Medal and The Commissioner’s Accommodation.
