A man with a history of felony convictions and lengthy arrest history, and who absconded from parole, has been captured by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office after deputies received a suspicious person complaint.
Monday night at approximately 11:15, Grayson County Deputies Erik Franklin and Justin Cockerell were dispatched to the 400 block of Hardin Road after a resident reported a man had approached a home asking for gasoline.
The man, 36-year-old Jeffrey David Grim, then left the residence. As deputies were en route, they were informed that Grim had entered another resident’s vehicle that was parked in their driveway.
Upon arriving, police observed the Ford Fiesta that Grim had been driving, but there was no sign of Grim. As deputies searched the area, they soon made contact with the suspect, who gave officers at least two false names.
Further investigation showed the license plate on the Fiesta came back to a Chevrolet Avalanche.
Eventually, Grim gave police his correct identifying information, with deputies discovering Grim was wanted for a parole violation for a felony offense.
Additionally, according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections (KDC), Grim absconded from parole after being convicted in Kentucky five times since 2017 for a variety of offenses, including felony fleeing or evading police and third-degree assault of a police officer in Pulaski County; felony fleeing or evading police in Lincoln County; and criminal facilitation to manufacture methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence in Warren County.
It appears, according to the KDC, that he has been out of prison since September 2021.
Grim has been arrested at least 16 times since 2006 in seven Kentucky counties, most often in Lincoln County (seven), an online search revealed. His arrests have been for a wide range of offenses, including theft, burglary, drugs, and assault, along with his conviction counts.
His hometown has been listed as Brodhead, Mammoth Cave, Mt. Vernon, Glasgow, Stanford, and Elizabethtown over the last 15-plus years, according to the various jails where he has been incarcerated.
Grim is on parole until March 2023. He is lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.
