Two wanted felons from Ohio County have been arrested at Green River Lodge in Morgantown.

Morgantown Police Chief Giles Taylor said that on Monday, officers were dispatched to the lodge, at 102 Sawmill Road, after receiving information on multiple suspects with arrest warrants on the property.

Upon arriving at the scene, police arrested 31-year-old Nicholas A. Hurt, of Beaver Dam, and 25-year-old Kristen A. Evans, of Centertown.

Hurt, who has three probation violation warrants, was charged with identity theft, possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), giving an officer false identifying information, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hurt has a long history of theft, drug and domestic violence arrests dating back to 2013. According to the Kentucky Department of Corrections (KDC), he was convicted in May 2021 in Ohio County for theft by unlawful taking, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), intimidating a participant in the legal process, and flagrant non-support.

He was granted shock probation in February of this year, the KDC says, and is on probation until 2027.

Evans has multiple arrest warrants out of Ohio County, including for endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of a controlled substance, trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, and being a persistent felony offender.

Both suspects were originally jailed in Butler County but have since been lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
