The son of a LaRue County man accused of murdering his girlfriend and burying her in his backyard has also been charged in the woman’s murder.
Shawn C. Puyear, 41, of Louisville, was indicted by a LaRue County Grand Jury earlier this week for complicity to murder, complicity to abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence, multiple media outlets report.
His father, 59-year-old David C. Puyear, of Buffalo, was arrested in September 2021 and charged with killing Angel Jessie sometime between May 16 and May 31, 2016.
Jessie’s remains were discovered buried in a large pile of debris in the elder Puyear’s backyard in the 500 block of Corinth Road, about six miles southeast of Hodgenville.
Authorities discovered Jessie’s body after Kentucky State Police received a tip.
Both men are lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center. The younger Puyear is being held on a $1 million bond. No bond amount is listed for David Puyear.
