A former northern Kentucky school resource officer has been jailed after engaging in sexually charged dialogue online with a girl he thought was 15-years-old.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office said former Augusta Police Officer, 29-year-old Ryan Hill, of Hebron, used social media to engage in sexually explicit conversations with who he thought was a 15-year-old girl but was actually an undercover officer from Minnesota.

Officials said the conversations spanned many days as Hill described the sexual acts he wanted the “girl” to perform.

Additionally, Hill admitted to the undercover officer posing as a teen that he was a police officer.

Hill joined the Augusta PD in August 2021. He was charged on Friday with unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities.

He is being held in the Boone County Detention Center on a $15,000 cash bond.
