A woman has been critically injured after being tossed from a vehicle on Bowling Green Road (Hwy 185).
Sunday afternoon at approximately 3:15, Grayson County Deputies Sean Fentress and Justin Cockerel, the Caneyville Fire Department and EMS responded to the accident 6400 block of Bowling Green Road.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found a northbound Ford Explorer had left the roadway while coming out of an uphill curve. The Ford entered a large yard and traveled for about 200 feet. As the SUV began to reenter the roadway it struck a six-foot embankment, flipping the vehicle at least once as it crossed both lanes of traffic before striking a fence. The female driver was tossed from the vehicle as the Ford came to rest on its wheels.
The driver, suffering from apparently critical injuries, was transported by EMS to Caneyville Elementary School where she was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital. Her current condition has not been released.
Kentucky State Police Troopers Jared Clemons and Jacob Clemons assisted at the scene.
