The man who illegally took his son from Tennessee and his niece from Beaver Dam is facing additional charges.
Besides the aggravated kidnapping and custodial interference charges 35-year-old Jacob F. Clare faces in Kentucky and Tennessee, he was charged by Orange County, California, prosecutors with unlawful intercourse with a minor and incest.
Clare failed to return his son, three-year-old Noah Clare, to the boy’s mother in Gallatin, Tennessee, on November 7. He also left with his 16-year-old niece, Amber Clare, who had last been seen on November 5 at her Beaver Dam residence. Police said they believe Amber Clare left with her uncle of her own accord.
After a nearly two-week manhunt, the trio was located Thursday morning near Dana Point, California, after a concerned resident recognized the three from surveillance photos circulated by police.
Jacob Clare was immediately taken into custody while the two children have been reunited with their families.
The Subaru Legacy they had been traveling in had been found two days prior in San Clemente, California.
Jacob Clare remains in a California jail awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
