With Wednesday marking the first day to file to run for public office in the 2022 election, a former Leitchfield City Council member has filed to run for mayor of Leitchfield.

Harold Miller, who served on the city council from 2012 to 2020, filed his paperwork with Frankfort election officials.

“I am excited to announce my candidacy for mayor of the city of Leitchfield,” Miller said. “As a lifelong resident of the city, along with eight years of service on the Leitchfield City Council, I have the experience and knowledge to move our city forward. I look forward to meeting and exchanging ideas with as many of our citizens as possible.”

Miller worked for Warren RECC for 34 years, the last three-and-a-half years as District Manager of the Leitchfield office.

Mayor Rick Embry confirmed to K105 that he indeed intends to run for a second term, but has not yet filed.
