The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office has released the month of July’s Most Wanted suspects.
Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins, in a video produced by K105 Digital Productions, said his office needs the public’s help locating the following people deemed Grayson County’s Most Wanted:
Joseph L. Coin, 36 (featured in headline photo): Wanted for possession of handgun by a convicted felon, fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, and driving on a suspended/revoked operator’s license.
On the afternoon of April 5, Kentucky State Police requested the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office assistance after Coin fled from police in a Nissan Sentra as troopers attempted a traffic stop on northbound Hwy 79 between Caneyville and Short Creek.
The chase left Hwy 79 as Coin turned onto Pine Knob Road. Coin, after Pine Knob Road transitions into Young Road, left the 1300 block of Young Road, driving several hundred yards into a field before fleeing on foot into a densely wooded area.
Troopers gave chase as Grayson County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Sonny Poteet and Sgt. Fred Norder quickly made their way to the scene.
Upon Norder arriving, he detained a female passenger who was in possession of two firearms. Norder and Poteet then assisted multiple troopers in searching a wide area for Coin, but to no avail.
Coin has been convicted on 11 charges in Edmonson, Butler and Warren counties since 2005.
