A Central Hardin High School student is one of five Kentucky students who were awarded a full scholarship in the first “Shot at a Million” drawing.

On Friday, Jalen Crudup, 17, was awarded the scholarship that can go toward attending any university, technical or trade school in Kentucky.

Gov. Andy Beshear awarded the scholarships, along with $1 million to Patricia Short, of Lexington, in the state’s COVID-19 vaccination incentive program. Additional drawings for $1 million will be held on July 29 and August 28.

The other scholarship winners were Crystal Frost, of Crestwood; Tyler Henson, of Mt. Sterling; Adison Sullenger, of Princeton; and Alex VonderHaar, of Louisville.

The incentive program was announced on June 4, with approximately 121,700 people receiving a COVID-19 vaccine since that time.
