Kentucky State Police investigating after eastern KY deputy fatally shoots domestic violence suspect

Kentucky State Police is investigating a deadly shooting involving a Fleming Co. deputy.

State police said that Monday afternoon at 4:30, the unidentified deputy attempted to stop a vehicle where a man and a woman appeared to be involved in a “physical domestic violence altercation.” The vehicle fled the deputy into Mason County where the man exited the vehicle and began to flee on foot.

When the deputy caught the suspect, a physical altercation ensued with the deputy shooting the man, who has also not been identified.

The suspect was airlifted to a Cincinnati hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The deputy was treated and released from a local hospital.
