The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force (GHCNTF), along with other police agencies, has made a major drug trafficking arrest.

On Tuesday night, the task force and the Kentucky State Police Drug Interdiction Team executed a search warrant in the Hudson area of Breckinridge Co. and arrested two suspects after seizing dozens of fentanyl pills, a highly dangerous synthetic opioid intended to be used to tranquilize exceptionally large animals (elephants, rhinoceros, etc.).

Over the last several years, fentanyl has been mixed with heroin and cocaine and has resulted in countless overdoses and overdose deaths.

During a search of the residence, police located between 85 and 100 fentanyl pills, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to authorities.

Law enforcement arrested 22-year-old Jacob Terrance Harris, who, according to the Breckinridge County Detention Center, has a residence in Leitchfield, but is also known to live near Hudson. When arrested, Harris was out on bond after previously being arrested for trafficking in marijuana.

Also charged was 19-year-old Robert Tristan Jones, of Evansville.

Both suspects were charged with trafficking in fentanyl, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Harris was also charged with tampering with physical evidence.

The suspects were lodged in the Breckinridge County Detention Center.

These arrests are the result of a joint investigation involving the GHCNTF, Kentucky State Police and the Leitchfield Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing and Harris and Jones could face additional charges, according to police.
